DONG Jinling

Dong Jinling was born in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province in 1986 and graduated from Yunnan University at Art History and Theory department in 2008. She currently lives and works in Beijing.

Dong Jinling lives in Beijing, where the contemporary art scene is lively and active, but she seldom joins the celebrations. Instead, she recedes herself in the crowd as the most common worker, feeling the heavy burden in this era and real life. In the meantime, through art, she is constructing another space connecting spirit to reality, where there is beauty, blessing, and struggle. Thus, her works bear traces of their unique experiences, universal poetry, and reverence for real life.
