New Works by HE Wei
Solo Exhibition, Saisen Art, Shanghai
In this new body of work, He Wei continues a fluid visual expression that he has developed in the last two years, while gradually releasing more emotional power. These watercolour-like images stem from his raw and genuine feelings for nature in everyday life, from the foggy morning, slow moving clouds, shimmering water in the sun, raindrops slipping on the glass window, moonlight bathing the ground through clouds, to the magnificent scenery of his hometown Xinjiang, where lakes merge with the sky and vast deserts with solitary smoke. These beautiful impressions, which have lingered in He Wei’s mind, are now reinterpreted on canvas through subtle colours, shapes and compositions.
